Welche Tiefenlage beim HDD ist erforderlich?

Die als leicht zu beantwortend erscheinende Frage der sinnvollen Tiefenlage einer Horizontalspülbohrung entpuppt sich in der Praxis mitunter als komplizierter Abwägungsprozess. Neben der Baugrundbeschaffenheit und bohrspezifischen Belangen sind immer häufiger auch bohrhydraulische Parameter zu berücksichtigen. Der Vortrag beleuchtet die Fragestellung aus Sicht des Regelwerkes und der Praxis.

Geotechnische Untersuchungen für ultralange HDD

To secure the drinking water supply on the island of Texel in the North of the Netherlands a new pipeline connection had to be created to the main land. The existing pipeline was damaged by scour and repaired recently. The drinking water company PWN initiated research for the determination of the feasibility of the pipeline installation by means of horizontal directional drilling. Since the feasibility of a horizontal directional drilling was mainly determined by the geotechnical conditions of the subsoil, an extensive geotechnical research was carried out in stages. After each stage, the continuation of the feasibility study was evaluated. In different stages successively more knowledge about the soil sequence along a possible drilling line was gathered. Finally test drillings were carried out as a last step in the feasibility study. The test drillings were used to identify the soil types along the drilling line and to measure interaction in between the soil behaviour and the drilling equipment during drilling. By comparing the calculated predictions and the measurements, the long drilling line of 4.6 kilometre was considered to be possibly at a depth of 85 m below sea level, but the risks were classified as very high. The horizontal directional drilling could only be carried out by a very experienced drilling contractor with full control of the entire drilling process.
